Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 has reached a new sales milestone, selling over three million units since launching in January 2024. Its last milestone was in February 2024, with two million sold.
According to the development team in the latest Tekken Talk Live, which previewed Season 2, the fighting game is selling at a faster pace than Tekken 7. Interestingly, the latter crossed three million sales before its first anniversary. It’s possible that Tekken 8’s milestone occurred sooner, and the developer is only confirming it now.
Regardless, Tekken 8 is a success, even garnering critical acclaim when it launched for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It’s received new DLC characters, including Heihachi Mishima, and free updates, adding new story chapters. However, there’s also been controversy around its monetization, specifically the Tekken Shop and its prices.
Season 2 will include six new DLC fighters, starting with Anna Williams on March 31st for Season Pass holders and April 3rd for everyone else.
