Tata Sky is GONE! The company has now been renamed to Tata Play, with a major revamp of its services. Existing customers of Tata Sky will be swiftly moved over to the new services and will see the new branding efforts reflected across the entire interface. Tata Play has also joined hands with Netflix to offer new OTT-centric channel packs as well.
The new rebranding of Tata Sky will be visible to viewers from January 27.
As part of the Tata Play rebranding, all other associated Tata Sky services have also been renamed. “Our Broadband business with 100 percent fiber network provides impressive speeds, and that’s why we renamed it to Tata Play Fiber. In the last few years OTT has become mainstream which led us to create an aggregator app called Tata Play Binge – which today hosts content from 13 leading OTT apps through a single User Interface while offering the flexibility of single subscription and payment,” said Harit Nagpal, MD & CEO – Tata Play Ltd.
“We recently announced the Tata Play Binge Combo Packs – an inventive bundled offering that, for the first time, is providing the best of broadcast channels and OTT apps in one integrated pack, making entertainment consumption further consumer friendly,” he added.
Additionally, Tata Play has also added Netflix as an add-on bundled service to its bouquet of offerings. The new Binge Combo packs will now include TV channels as well as subscription to OTT services in one combo pack. The list of OTT services will also include Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar. These new Combo packs will start at a monthly price of Rs. 399.
