Sylvester Stallone breaks down who would win in a fight between his two iconic characters, Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. In 1976, Stallone wrote and starred in director John G. Avildsen’s Rocky. The film introduced audiences to its eponymous Italian Stallion, a Philly slugger who is granted a fateful exhibition with the heavyweight boxing champion of the world, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Stallone went on to reprise his role in seven Rocky movies and two Creed spin-offs.
In 1982, Stallone made his debut as Green Beret and Vietnam veteran John Rambo in Ted Kotcheff’s First Blood, which is based on David Morrell’s novel of the same name. Similar to his 80s tenure as Rocky, Stallone leaned further into his action hero persona with each installment in the Rambo franchise, ending with 2019’s Rambo: Last Blood. Now, Stallone’s name has become synonymous with both Rocky and Rambo. Given each character’s status as a warrior in their own right, albeit specializing in different disciplines, diehard Stallone fans have often debated who would win in a fight between the (very) hard-headed heavyweight boxing champ and the decorated and dangerous solider.

Stallone often takes to social media to share behind-the-scenes tidbits from his work on the Rocky and Rambo franchises. Recently, a fan poster hyping the bout between his two characters prompted the 75-year-old actor to give his take on the theoretical fight. Stallone broke down the advantages, disadvantages, strategies, and fighting techniques of each character, before ultimately deciding that, whoever wins,«neither man will ever be the same.» Check it out below:
