The first episode of Ms. Marvelon Disney+ has confirmed the Super Smash Bros. series exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The recent Super Smash Bros. game censored Disney characters out of one of its stages, suggesting that the reference doesn't work both ways, even if Super Smash Bros. Ultimate does have a Disney rep from one franchise.
The Super Smash Bros. series contains crossovers between different video game franchises. The first two entries in the series consisted of first-party Nintendo characters and Pokémon. It wasn't until Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Nintendo Wii that the game started to include third-party characters, with Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid joining the roster. The most recent entry in the franchise, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, is filled with third-party characters from series like Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, and Tekken. The Super Smash Bros. entries have only ever contained video game characters, with series creator Masahiro Sakurai claiming popular characters like Goku and Iron Man won't appear in the series.

Despite the lack of Mavel in Super Smash Bros., it does appear the game itself can exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Game Rant, the first episode of Ms. Marvel on Disney+ includes a reference to the fighting game franchise within its first few minutes, when Kamala Khan's best friend Nakia Bahdir asks if she is being invited to play Smash Bros. after school. While this isn't likely the tie-in many Super Smash Bros. and Marvel fans were hoping for, it is an interesting mention for those who catch it.
