Fan art based on video games is nothing new, as countless gamers have decided to display their passion for gaming by making artwork based on their favorite characters and worlds. Numerous titles have been represented in these creations, such as The Legend of Zelda and the Pokemon series, just to name a few. While many of this these creations are worthy of praise, one recent piece of art deserves particular attention.
Not long ago, an aspiring animation student revealed a new project that they had completed. Jordan LeBlanc, also known as Hxx on YouTube, decided to make a short film that took inspiration from video games, specifically The Legend of Zelda series. Impressively, the results of this university project were nothing short of spectacular.

In the short film uploaded to YouTube titled “Shield Bash,” a character with a similar appearance to Link from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild walks past the camera and notices a shield hanging from a wall in what appears to be some sort of library. Just as he is about to grab the item, he realizes that another character, one that looks like Zelda, wants it as well. Chaos ensues as the two attempt to take the shield from each other using a sword and a bow.
In addition to showcasing the incredible animation on YouTube, Hxx provided some details behind the process of bringing the short film to life. According to the creator, the project was their sophomore film for the university they attended.
