After six months with no major updates and none on the way, many Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are looking for something new to play. Resetting their island is one way for players to keep themselves entertained until the next Animal Crossing installment comes out. However, there are plenty of options out there for those who enjoy specific parts of Animal Crossing and are looking to delve into something new.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released in the spring of 2020 with incredible success. Updates, both large and small, were provided on a semi-regular basis adding new items, gameplay mechanisms, and more. The first and only DLC was released in November 2021, with Nintendo announcing that no more DLC or major updates would be released.

Now that players know nothing new is coming, many are not logging into Animal Crossing every day or are quitting completely and moving to something new. There are a lot of games out there available on the Switch and other platforms that players can sink their time into as they did with ACNH. While nothing will be exactly the same as Animal Crossing, there are many games that highlight certain aspects of it.
If players enjoyed Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the island restoration and the farming, Stardew Valley is something they should definitely give a try. Players inherit their grandfather's farm and are tasked with bringing the farm back to its former glory. Players also can interact with the villagers, restore other parts of the town, and explore dungeons. Stardew Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Mobile.
