Although Street Fighter 6 is still several months to a year away from releasing, developer Capcom has been getting fans excited for the new title by gradually revealing which characters will be coming to the game. So far, both new and returning characters from the Street Fighter series have been announced to be joining the game's rosters, with one or two characters generally revealed at a time. The latest trailer for Street Fighter 6 both showed off the play style of one new face joining the battle and confirmed the return of a popular character.
So far, Street Fighter 6 trailers have revealed two new characters, Jamie, a fighter who combines kung fu and break dancing styles, and Kimberly, a ninja who incorporates paint and graffiti art into her fighting. Returning to the game is Luke, an MMA fighter who was first added in the last wave of DLC for Street Fighter 5, alongside series staples Ryu, Chun-Li, and Guile. The full size of the game's roster is not known, and potentially many more characters could be revealed before its release.

A trailer debuting on August 8 showed off Kimberly's gameplay in greater detail. Kimberly is a swift, agile character — possibly even as fast as some of the series' speediest characters — who excels at running and airborne attacks. Her interest in becoming a ninja led her to study under Guy, a Final Fight character who later made appearances in the Street Fighter series. Kimberly uses the Bushinryu technique that Guy has passed down, but has added her own urban style to the movements and attacks. She is also shown able to use spray cans as bombs and to conceal herself using the colorful smoke.
