With the Streamer Awards coming to a close moments ago, the expected debate over winners is already in motion. Ludwig bagged the Streamer of the Year award among the four nominees, xQc Sykunno Mizkif. While all the nominees were present and congratulated Ludwig on his win, the same can't be said for their fans at home.
The event was held in West Hollywood, LA and all the winners were decided by objective voting criteria. To avoid turning the Streamer Awards into a popularity contest, the votes from fans would account for 70% of the winning criteria. In comparison, a panel selected by the organizers would hold the remaining 30%.
On the surface, there is no real benefit to QTCindrella, who organized the event, by rigging the votes in favor of any particular streamer. Outraged by xQc turning up empty in all categories, fans are alleging mischief on the part of the organizers.
xQc fans are not agreeing with fellow viewers trying to create a middle ground between the fanbases
Many fans have cited the number of active viewers on xQc's streams and socials compared to Ludwig's over the past year. Real-world numbers of any streamer or other achievements are not the main considerations being made here.
The theme of the entire ceremony was based around rewarding streamers who had the most enjoyable livestream from a viewer's perspective. Hence, even the panel's votes were presumably made on these considerations.
Ludwig fans have come out to support him and are listing all the reasons for his deserved win.
