Since the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus earlier this year, players have discovered several bugs and unexpected moments ranging from battles with trees to Spheal's rolling in weird ways. One Pokemon Legends: Arceus player has encountered a Starly that launched itself into the sky prior to a battle and got stuck there.
Reddit user Handy-soap recently shared a clip of their Pokemon Legends: Arceus adventure in which they're exploring the Crimson Mirelands as they happen upon an unsuspecting Starly. Although Pokemon are known for using various stat-boosting maneuvers to avoid attacks, this Starly tries to avoid battle by flying to the sky and staying there. After watching the brief battle initiating cutscene with the Starly flying to the sky, the Pokemon Legends: Arceus player has to take many steps away just to see how high the Flying-type Pokemon has gone.

Handy-soap's Pokemon Legends: Arceus clip begins with the Pokemon trainer approaching a Starly and summoning a Flareon, one of the many available Eeveelutions in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Perhaps because of the player tossing their Flareon's Poke Ball at the feet of the wild Starly, the bird soars upward and continues beyond the short battle intro. As a result, Starly is left fluttering ominously several meters above the Flareon, which is still able to attack the wild Pokemon despite the distance between them on the battlefield.
