The original Star Wars origin story of Jango Fett makes him even deadlier than his son, Boba Fett, thanks to more impressive feats and far more experience at a younger age. Jango Fett and Boba Fett are each the galaxy’s greatest bounty hunters in their respective generations, and while the canon universe origin of Jango Fett hints at his combat prowess, the Legends timeline shows it in grim detail. In Legends, Jango Fett became a soldier at ten years old and became both the Mand’alor and the most dangerous mercenary in the galaxy.
Boba Fett’s impressive bounty hunting career lived up to fan expectations in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, which was the franchise’s official timeline until 2014. After the Expanded Universe was rebranded Legends and made an alternate continuity, however, Boba’s competence and even his Mandalorian heritage were inconsistent. The Mandalorian finally confirmed that his father, Jango, was a true Mandalorian, but The Book of Boba Fett revealed that rival bounty hunter Cad Bane was a far more dangerous mercenary.
