Marvel Comics has unveiled a series of stunning newStar Wars cover art starring popular LGBGTQIA+ characters in celebration of Pride Month that will appear on upcoming comic books. In the seven new covers, fan-favorite Star Wars figures, including Doctor Aphra and Sabé, take center stage, as they are highlighted in gorgeous pieces of art from different artists for June's Pride Month.
The Star Wars universe is full of iconic heroes and villains, with many from across the galaxy identifying as LGBGTQIA+. Most famously, the criminal archaeologist Doctor Aphra, who worked alongside Darth Vader before betraying him, is a lesbian. In the Star Wars film, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lando Calrissian was confirmed to be pansexual, as Donald Glover's interpretation of the character is hinted at sharing a romance with a droid. OtherStar Wars characters who identify as gay, bisexual, pansexual, trans, non-binary and more have been introduced in both the films and comic books.

This week Marvel Comics and Lucasfilms revealed a new collaboration of Star Wars Pride variant covers which will feature a special version of the series' title with an official Star Wars Pride logo. This year's batch of Pride covers features even new images starring LGBTQIA+ characters. First up is a Doctor Aphra-starring cover from Paulina Ganucheau for Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #22 from Marvel Comics.
