Warning! Spoilers ahead for Darth Vader #20
In the latest issue of Darth Vader, it's revealed why the Dark Lord kills so many Imperials beyond those who test his patience and fail him. While Vader serves his master Palpatine, it's been made clear that the fallen Jedi turned Sith holds little regard for the officers and troopers that make up the Empire's military might. Now that it's been revealed that the Imperial hierarchy has been infiltrated by agents of Crimson Dawn, Vader has the perfect excuse to truly let loose and slaughter Imperials left and right in the name of order.
In previous issues of Darth Vader, the Emperor has tasked his apprentice with hunting down the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn, especially those who have wormed their way into the Imperial leadership itself. Gathering forces outside of the Empire such as assassins and freedom fighters known as the Revengers, Vader has been taking the fight to the Dawn. However, the new Darth Vader #20 from writer Greg Pak and artist Raffaele Ienco sees the Dark Lord recovering a list full of known Crimson Dawn agents and collaborators within the Empire. As such, Vader and his team head for the Imperial core world of Coruscant to continue their mission.

Upon entering the throne room of Palpatine himself, Vader wastes no time killing those on the list, which includes members of the Emperor's inner circle, mercilessly slaughtering them in a brutal massacre. Even so, Vader's master isn't fazed in the slightest.
