Being immortalized as a Lego set or a Funko Pop! is a sign something has truly made it, and while they might not be up there with those stalwarts of the toy world just yet, Squishmallows are nipping at their heels. The soft toys are in high-demand, particularly the licensed ones tied to popular characters, and it seems Spider-Man is about to get a few more. Three new Spidey characters, transformed into Squishmallow's Hug Mee plushes.
Even though they are a part of the Squishmallows family, Hug Mees are a little different. While they're made of the same material and stuffed with plenty of fluff - just like a Squishmallow - they're not quite as big and round. They're effectively Squishmallows that have had a little something taken out of their middles and given arms and legs. Closer to a regular plush, but still unmistakably Squishmallow.
Shared by Funko Pop News, it seems Spider-Man will be swinging into Squishmallow's Hug Mee world very soon. Well, actually, they already have. Three new Spider-Man Hug Mee plushes have been spotted on a store shelf, although they don't seem to be available to buy online just yet. Peter Parker's traditional Spider-Man, Miles Morales's black and red look, and Gwen's pink and white Ghost Spider are the three characters to have been given the Hug Mee treatment.
The price on the store shelf in the picture above has the Spidey Hug Mees at $9.99 each which would be very reasonable if that's the price they sell for when they arrive online. Unfortunately, there's no indication as to whether that will be the case, nor when they will be made available to buy online.
