Square Enix's New Pet Brand Includes Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, And Dragon Quest
Square Enix has launched a brand-new pet goods brand known as SQEX PETS, with a few products from the initial line-up being revealed. According to the official Japanese website, the first products were made under Tetsuya Nomura's supervision and include designs based on the Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts series.
All the products are listed as 'coming soon' and still under development.
There's only one product shown in the Final Fantasy series so far — a rope toy shaped like Cloud's Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7. Adorably, the hilt of the sword is the rope, with the blade being a soft toy.
Two products have been revealed for the Dragon Quest series. Your pet can sleep in a bed that looks exactly like one of Dragon Quest's iconic slimes, or wear one of the bandanas that feature the slimes, too.
If you're a Kingdom Hearts fan with a pet, you'll be happy to see that this range has the most products shown so far. There's a sweet dog coat that looks just like Sora's hoodie from Kingdom Hearts 3, complete with a new print on the back. There's also a bandana, pet bed, and mat printed with the classic pattern seen on a lot of Kingdom Hearts merchandise.
There's another rope toy similar to the Buster Sword one, but this time, it's been designed to replicate the paopu fruit. Finally, there's a leash with the iconic Kingdom Hearts symbols on it as well.
None of the products have release dates yet, and the Square Enix site even warns that, depending on how development goes, some of the products may not be sold. Hopefully these products come to fruition, as they're some of the cutest pieces of merchandise we've seen.
