Nintendo has revealed when players can pick up the new Splatoon 3 amiibo and given a first look at what they will unlock. Players who have been waiting to hear about the trio of Splatoon 3 amiibo will be pleased to know that their official release date isn't too far away now.
The Splatoon series originally launched on the Wii U, which also saw the origins of amiibo, collectible toys-to-life figures. The figures are typically designed off of playable or main story characters in the series they originate from, and offer special perks when tapped to a compatible Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, or Nintendo Switch game. Splatoon has seen amiibo released based off the playable Inklings and Octolings, as well as amiibo sets based off of the idols of the first two games.

Now that Splatoon 3 is in full swing, Nintendo has revealed that the series' next amiibo toys will be launching on November 11. A brief teaser demonstrates what the amiibo can do and what players can expect to unlock upon using them. The basic usage of the amiibo seems to be identical to prior games at this time. Players who visit the in-game amiibo box in Splatsville can access a prompt to scan their amiibo in real life.
Scanning the amiibo will bring the character to life in-game, and gives players the ability to save their gear sets to the amiibo, so tapping it to the gamepad immediately equips the gear the player saved. Players can also take pictures with the amiibo characters posing in various locales from the game. However, new gear is likely what long-time fans of the series are most looking forward to, and the teaser gave some clues as to what it will include.
