Infinity Ward and Activision Blizzard have announced that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022. Ever since September 17, the developers have made the game open for beta testing and through that we have seen multiple new features that will be making its way into the game. The most anticipated among them are Spec Ops and the mysterious Raid mode. And while three Spec Ops will be available to play at launch, it is the Raid mode whose details were previously not known. But now the dates have been revealed. Read on to find out.
The Spec Ops mode is a 2-player co-op experience and will contain three missions that will be available to play at launch. The three missions are Bad Situation, a stealth-focused mission about recovering intel, Vehicle Escape where players have to man a car to destroy SAM turrets and Observatory Defense is a survival mode where players can spend money between waves to get more gear. This is similar to a typical death match. These three games have been designed to be highly replayable. These missions will also let players earn stars which will help them level up their kits and let them get better gears.
Raids will be added to Spec Ops on December 14, when the first of these games will become playable. It will be added to the game with the Season 1 Reloaded update. This is an entirely new game mode and the details of it are not known at this time. Activision has described this mode as “A whole new experience for the franchise, Raids will be coming later this year after launch. Raids will be 3v3 and focus on team communication and coordination like never before”.
