A group of talented Spider-Man: Miles Morales players is currently bringing the game to mobile devices with an impressive fan project. First launched on the PlayStation 4 and the then-newly released PlayStation 5 in late 2020, Insomniac’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales built off the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man by switching the focus from Peter Parker to his younger protégé Miles as he fought to defend New York City and come into his own as an arachnid-powered superhero. While smaller and shorter than its 2018 predecessor, Spider-Man: Miles Morales featured all of the open-world web-swinging and fast-paced combat that made Marvel’s Spider-Man such an overwhelming success — as well as new Venom Strike and cloaking abilities thanks to Miles’s unique powerset.
Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales were initially released as PlayStation console exclusives, and statements from developer Insomniac from before the former was released indicated that this would remain the case. However, last week’s PlayStation State of Play livestream came with the shocking announcement that both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are being ported to PC later this year, following other former PlayStation exclusives like Death Stranding, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and God of War (2018). This is undoubtedly exciting news for Marvel fans without a PlayStation console with which to enjoy Insomniac's excellent take on the legendary superhero and his universe, as well as modders looking forward to playing around with both these open-world titles on a much easier platform.
