Fans of will need to accept that Insomniac Games isn't planning to release any more content for the popular open-world game. After the first entry in Insomniac's take on the Web-Slinger received a trio of middling story-focused expansions, the community hoped the studio would build upon the sequel having learned from the mistakes of the past. As it turns out, that won't be the case but there is good news for PC players who have yet to experience the game on PlayStation 5.
Posting on the official PlayStation Blog, Insomniac Games confirmed that there won't be any DLC for while also announcing that the game is launching on PC on January 30, 2025:
«While we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re delighted to bring all of our previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more.»
The PC version of the game will include all the content added to through free updates; That includes 12 new suits, Ultimate Levels, additional Symbiote Suit styles, Time-of-Day options, and post-game achievements. The Deluxe Edition will also sport a series of early unlocks, five exclusive suits for both Peter and Miles, five bonus skill points, and extra Photo Mode items.
Despite receiving glowing praise from critics, a part of the community felt underwhelmed by the sequel's narrative. The game does set up several plot threads that either lead to cliffhangers or seemingly set up an extension to the established narrative, leading many to believe that DLC was in the works. The announcement that this isn't the case will undoubtedly anger some but at the same time, it's important to know that Insomniac knows what it's doing.
Game development is often a matter of scope fluctuations, so it could be the case that was initially meant to have DLC but these projects were cut for whatever reason. Some of the dangling threads may be addressed in a third game if that is what the studio
