With all the big sequels launched this year (and coming next week), it’s easy to forget that 11 bit studios delivered Frostpunk 2. The social survival city builder expanded on the original’s scope and scale in some pretty impressive ways and sold over 350,000 copies within days of launching. In its Q3 fiscal year 2025 financial report, the developer confirmed that it’s currently at 511,000 units sold.
The Deluxe Edition, which provided advanced access to the title, makes up 48.7 percent of the total sales. 11 bit studios also revealed that the most players were from China at 24.2 percent. The United States was next at 18.5 percent, followed by 7.2 percent in Germany and 2.9 percent in Poland.
The first game sold 1.4 million units in its first year, so it should be interesting to see if the sequel can surpass that total. Frostpunk 2 is available for PC – check out our review here, where we gave it a nine out of ten. It’s also coming to Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in 2025.
