Just because a film has not been released yet doesn't mean it's too early for a studio to give the fans a feature on how they executed it. With the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the popular video game Uncharted coming out in only a few weeks, Sony gave fans a brief look at how they pulled off the stunts shown in the trailer's most exhilarating scene.
When Unchartedreleased its trailer last month, the scene that stood out in the limited footage shown was the clip of Tom Holland's character, Nathan Drake, clinging for dear life onto the cargo that was barely attached to an airplane in midair. Even though the movie itself has not been released yet, the fans' intrigue is so strong that they already want to know how they executed that scene. Sony tweeted a brief featurette showing what went on behind the scenes as well as Holland's thoughts on it. To put a cherry on top, he said that it was the hardest action scene he's ever done. Given that Holland has played the titular role of Spider-Mansix times in the last six years, saying that this stunt was the hardest one he's ever performed says a lot.
As exciting as this film looks, we have to remember studios that have previously made movies based on video game franchises have often failed to pull off capturing the aesthetic of the game itself while executing a good film.
