One of the most memorable characters from Sons of Anarchy is Filip ‘Chibs’ Telford, the current president of SAMCRO, but like most of the members of the club, he has a difficult past, and it involves the IRA, from which he was ex-communicated years before the events of the series, and here’s why. Created by Kurt Sutter, Sons of Anarchy took the audience to the fictional town of Charming, California, to take a look into the world of motorcycle clubs by following the title group and their personal struggles within and outside the club. Sons of Anarchy was very well-received from the beginning, allowing it to live on for a total of seven seasons, coming to an end in 2014.
Sons of Anarchy is led by Jackson “Jax” Teller (Charlie Hunnam), the club’s VP at the beginning of the series and the son of John 'JT' Teller, one of the club’s founding members. The series kicks off when Jax finds his father’s manifesto, in which JT shared his ideas and views for the club, which were very different from those of the club’s current President (and Jax’s stepfather), Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman). This sends Jax on a journey that makes him question his relationships, family, and role in the club while also dealing with many issues with other clubs and gangs. Through Jax, the audience met the rest of the club’s members and learned a bit about their own struggles and stories, and one that stood out and became a fan favorite is Chibs Telford, one of the most loyal members of SAMCRO and who stood by Jax’s side from beginning to end.
