Sonic the Hedgehog fans have only just discovered an easter egg in Sonic Superstars that goes by so fast that you basically have to view it in slow motion to see it.
Although most Sonic games have their fair share of easter eggs, it feels like Sonic Superstars has gone a little further than most, as it's stuffed with references and callbacks to other games in the series. Some of them are fairly obvious like the return of Fang the Sniper from Sonic the Fighters, while others are a little bit harder to spot like The End floating ominously in the background of one of the game's final stages.
Perhaps the best easter egg that can be found in Sonic Superstars is a cameo from the infamous Tails Doll, a creepy version of Tails that first debuted in Sonic R and slowly became the stuff of creepypasta legend.
As easy as it is to miss those easter eggs when you're speeding through levels at the speed of sound, there's one small detail in Sonic Superstars that goes by so fast that some fans were convinced that they were imagining things. The easter egg in question is one that involves Sonic and randomly has a chance of triggering if the player is running at full speed.
If you do reach top speed as Sonic, there's a very small chance that he'll look towards the camera and pull out a chilli dog for one or two frames which, as you can imagine, is nearly impossible to see when it's on the screen for such a short amount of time. Don't underestimate Sonic fans when it comes to things going fast, though, as some players have started noticing the easter egg and sharing it around.
