As the Sonic the Hedgehog series celebrated its 30th-anniversary last year, many fans gathered together to pay tribute to the series and create some amazing art to showcase their love for the franchise in their own way. As the dedication to Sonic and his friends poured in, a game that was released on the hedgehog's 10th anniversary was turning 20 years old in 2021. That game was Sonic Adventure 2, one of the most beloved Sonic titles of all time. In regard to that game in specific, an animator known as Acruxicon had been working on a special tribute for the game in advance.
With the help of over 40 fans, Acruxicon pushed through several hurdles to organize what would become the Sonic Adventure 2: Reimagined Music Video project. While the video was released in January 2022, the project took three years to be finalized and released, with Acruxion saying that the process was difficult due to a lack of support at the start. Despite the struggles, the final project serves as a testament to what fans love about SA2 to the finest detail, and the results are stunning.

The Sonic Adventure 2: Reimagined music video puts a focus on the game's story as all the animators on the project took specific parts of the main vocal song of SA2, «Live and Learn» by Crush 40, to draw something for. The fan-animated music video set to one of Jun Senoue's most famous vocal compositions sees every part of the game re-animated in at least one shot, all the way to the final battle with the Biolizard in Final Hazard. As impressive as that was on its own, each cut is also timed to the specific part of the song the animators were assigned, which gives it some impressive detail.
