Back in the old days, family restaurants had whole ass consoles for you to flex your skills on. Now, kids are doing the exact same thing, just on mobile phones and tablets. We're old, huh?
Anyway - McDonald's is full of tablets loaded with basic games nowadays. And one fan decided to showcase their retro gaming talents to an audience - by beating the original Mega Drive Sonic the Hedgehog live in the restaurant.

Twitter user @redhotsonic_RHS shared their achievement on Twitter yesterday, simply writing: "At McDonald's and completed Sonic 1 lol". And for real, the first Sonic game is a whole lot harder than we remember, so it's worth showing off and doing in front of a crowd if you get the chance. Show those kids who's boss.
Admittedly, it was a demo of Sonic rather than the full game, but it's still hard. Games didn't mess around back then. It also gives us a look at the bizarre ending screen you get for beating the first few levels of the game, which as many have pointed out, uses beta screenshots from the original Sonic the Hedgehog. This implies whoever threw it together just grabbed some pictures from Google and called it a day - gotta respect that.
Many have also noticed that, for some reason, you have to be over 18 to download the full version of the game. It doesn't even cost money too, so it can't be because of in-app purchases or anything. Admittedly, it's been a few years since I picked the original Sonic up, so I don't remember if it gets really NSFW at some point.
