A fan of Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has produced a rather magnificent painting of the external parts of the city of Solitude, one of the game's most interesting locations. Considered by many to be an incredibly beautiful and immersive open-world game, it's not surprising that people find inspiration enough to create works of art. Bethesda's 2011 epic RPG may be nearly 11 years old at this point, but the overall vista is one of the reasons players keep coming back for more, even if the vanilla experience has aged somewhat over this past decade or so.
Those who are familiar with the game know how striking Skyrim's city of Solitude is. As well as being the largest city, the most distinctive characteristic is the rock formation that the locale rests on. Creating a giant archway that stretches over a body of water, the very mountain itself is as much a part of the place as the buildings and citizens that reside within, and it's this in particular that one fan wanted to capture.

Reddit user serena22 has produced a fabulous painting of Solitude that emphasized the unique shape of the exterior and the docks located nearby. While the docks remain outside the city's perimeter, they still catch some players' eyes. Going for a more «classic fantasy/adventure feel,» the artist showed their love of not only this particular city, but of Skyrim in general. The fact that the piece is painted as a nighttime scene, with the moonlight reflecting off the water below, is especially noteworthy. A number of people in the comments have praised serena22, with one user asking permission to use the painting for a potential future profile image.
