Horror game Scorn is letting three lucky fans have a creepy custom 3D-printed Xbox controller via a week-long giveaway event on the Xbox One Reddit page. The giveaway comes in light of the game’s debut on Xbox Series X. So far Scorn has received mixed reviews. However, fans have nothing but positive feedback for the design of the controller and giveaway overall.
First announced in 2014, Scorn is a first-person horror game featuring an open-world environment with various connected regions for the player to explore. The unsettling environment and labyrinth-like levels found in Scornfeature a Giger-inspired aesthetic. Hype put the game on the map after it was featured at the Xbox Series X showcase event in 2020. Gamers were intrigued by the surrealism of the environment and body horror aspects the game appeared to offer, echoing fun qualities found in fan-favorite horror franchises such as Resident Evil and Dead Space.

Ebb Software and Kepler Interactive commissioned the custom controllers to be designed by artist POPeArt with production done by Defy Gaming, a company known for making beautiful and wild-colored controllers for various gaming consoles. The collaboration between the two creatives led to a gruesome yet awesomely designed controller featuring a “bone and blood” aesthetic as found in the body horror-filled game.
The Scorn event gives fans multiple chances to enter the giveaway, including an identical thread on the Xbox Series X Reddit page.
