The Creative Director of upcoming pirating game Skull and Bones shared her favorite ship and items offered by the title in a recent interview. After a long string of delays, a release date for Skull and Bones was announced earlier this month alongside a new gameplay trailer. The open-world title promises a unique, multiplayer-centric swashbuckling experience where players build a pirate empire from the ground up.
Players begin Skull and Bones having just survived a shipwreck, and will need to gather materials to fix their ship and defend themselves from the wildlife around them. Much of the game centers around an Infamy system, which players can earn through things like treasure hunting and completing pirate contracts. Infamy will let players unlock blueprints for better ships, armor, and weapons as well as give them bigger contracts which offer larger rewards. Upon launch, alongside solo play the game will offer both a PvP and PvE server where players can battle each other or work together on quests. Inspired by the Golden Age of Piracy, Skull and Bones takes a great deal of influence from real-life pirating history.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, the Creative Director of Skull and Bones, Elisabeth Pellen, gave an in-depth look at what players can expect from the title and the inspiration behind it. Pellen described how the game wishes to cater to the ideal pirate fantasy, while still taking influence from the incredible history of pirate life.
