The Sims 4 team has teased an upcoming roadmap for the game that will cover new releases over the next 3 months. Although The Sims 4 has seen a slew of DLC over the past year, a true Expansion Pack for the popular simulation game has not been released since July 2021 with the release of The Sims 4: Cottage Living. It seems players could be getting a large amount a new content over the next few months, including a new Expansion Pack finally coming to the game.
The Sims 4 has several different sizes of DLC in a varying price range. The largest form of DLC, Expansion Packs, offer the most substantial amount of content, typically coming with a whole new world and many new gameplay elements, items, and clothing. From there in descending order, players can choose between Game Packs, which tend to focus on one specific new gameplay addition like occults or travel destinations, Stuff Packs, which feature a moderate amount of items or clothing around a theme, and Kits, which offer a small amount of items or clothing around a very specific idea like camping for child Sims. In the past, the Sims 4 team has received some criticism about the disparity between the large amount of Kits released compared to more substantial DLC.
