Last month, we discovered the Rebel Yell raid buff, which has since been renamed to Severed Strands. Serving as a soft nerf for the first raid tier in Season 1 of The War Within, this change now more closely ties Nerub-ar Palace to the evolving story within the City of Threads.
For all intents and purposes, this works the same way — players will be able to exchange Nerub-ar Finery obtained from raid bosses to stack the buff over time, currently up to 15 stacks for a whopping +45% damage and healing, which is well outside of the +20% target point suggested during the revealing interview with Associate Game Director Morgan Day. As such, it is likely we'll see further iteration as we get closer to the launch of Season 1 of The War Within.
The Severed Threads is the fourth major faction of The War Within, rebellious elements within the capital of the Nerubians in Azj-Kahet. This so called City of Threads bears many similarities to Suramar from Legion, a heavily caste-based society which players will assist in growing a rebellion against Queen Ansurek and Xal'atath.
