It was suggested that WhatsApp users would be able to use an avatar as a mask while placing video calls as well as share their Avatars as stickers with their contacts. Now, WhatsApp updates tracker, WabetaInfo has delivered another surprise for users! They will soon be able to use an Avatar as a profile photo on WhatsApp. Yes, users will get the tool to set their WhatsApp avatar profile photo instead of using their photo.
In the latest of WabetaInfo, it mentioned that “Avatars are a new way to be you on WhatsApp, available in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop... There is an additional feature that avatars will offer to users: the ability to set up an avatar to use as a profile photo!”
Yes, these will be the same Avatars that you may already be using on your Facebook and Instagram accounts. Meta had introduced 3D Avatars for Facebook, Messenger as well as Instagram a few months ago and these allow users to create and customize a digital Bitmoji that resembles them. Users get the option to customize the hair, skin colour, eyes, outfits, accessories and more to create a perfect digital avatar of themselves. This same feature is rumoured to be coming to WhatsApp soon. It seems like WhatsApp is trying to follow the footprints of Facebook and Instagram while absorbing similar features.
