Sonic Frontiers was revealed last December, along with its release window of holiday 2022. Since then, however, there hasn't been a whole lot of information. There have been no new trailers, and only a few comments from those involved in development - one of which was just shooting down a fan theory.
However, if this has got you worried that the game is going to be delayed, you can put those fears to rest. Well, according to Sega you can anyway. Speaking on a recent livestream, social media manager Katie Chrzanowski told fans that Frontiers is "still set to come out this holiday", and there will be more news in the coming months.

Sadly, however, the reassurance was made in response to the fact that there's no news on Frontiers right now, with Chrzanowski having nothing to share during the livestream (thanks, Nintendo Life).
"[I] See a lot of people asking about Frontiers, Chrzanowski said. "We don't have news on Frontiers today but don't worry soon. It's still set to come out this holiday, so we will have news for you this year, don't worry."
Considering Sonic's social media manager hasn't been instructed to downplay the 2022 release, it's safe to assume that the devs are internally sticking to this for now. It's possible that the company isn't releasing anything so as to not eat into Sonic Origins' promotion, as that game is set to launch on June 23 of this year.
However, it is baffling that Sega hasn't used the staggering success of the Sonic 2 movie to push Frontiers. It recently became the highest-grossing video game movie in the US - taking the crown from the first Sonic film that premiered back in 2020.
