Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has begun production on Roku's Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, a biopic of Grammy Award winner Weird Al Yankovic, who co-wrote the upcoming film. The newly released set photos show the English actor in costume as Weird Al, and he is virtually unrecognizable.
It was announced last month that Radcliffe will portray the famous musician, Weird Al Yankovic, known for parody classics like «Amish Paradise»and «Like A Surgeon.» In a typical tongue-in-cheek fashion that the musician has made a career out of, Yankovic said, «this is the role future generations will remember him for.»

Newly released set pictures of Radcliffe in costume as Weird Al Yankovic recently appeared on Twitter and the Harry Potter star is unrecognizable in a curly wig, a thick mustache, a short-sleeved camouflage shirt, high water black pants, and checkered vans. Eric Appel, co-writer and director of the biopic, commented on the set photos, saying he is thrilled that people are finally seeing Radcliffe just the way he wanted, «partially costumed and shot with a telephoto lens from across the street.» The sarcastic comment shared on Twitter clearly illustrated the director's frustration with the leaked photos, but fans reacted positively to them and expressed excitement about Radcliffe in the role.
Little is known about the upcoming biopic at the moment. IMDB only lists one other castmate along with Radcliffe whose role is listed as Biker. The casting of Radcliffe alone is sure to draw eyes to the film, just as the release of the set photos has sparked conversation and excitement about the upcoming project.
