Sea of Thieves Monkey Island Collaboration Finale, 'The Lair of LeChuck', is Live Now
«The Lair of LeChuck», the third and final chapter in the Sea of Thieves collaboration with The Legend of Monkey Island , is now live.
In the latest chapter ofthe Tall Tales series, you will join Guybrush Threepwood to Monkey Island itself this time. After the two previous installments sent you to Mêlée Island and a quest to help free Guybrush, this time, your pirate and Guybrush will be following the legendary LeChuck’s trail. The ghost pirate awaits, but only after completing a series of other challenges first.
Those challenges include several tasks, and in your journey to complete them, you’ll also be able to explore Monkey Island. Tasks will include getting your hands on three golden idols, and even having to find LeChuck after making your way through a maze of catacombs. It's a bit of a race against time before LeChuck can bring his plans to fruition and defeat Guybrush.
Expect both new and returning faces in this last part of the collaboration, including in the overall narrative that brings this journey to a close. This comes before a new season is set to begin.
As with prior installments, there are some new cosmetics available in the shop, including Legend of Monkey Island sails and figurehead. If you acquire these and use them for your ship, you'll make it clear that you are supporting Guybrush. There are also several new costumes available that are inspired by several other characters, including Kate Capsize, Herman Toothrot and Stan.
Monkey Island fans, there’s even the chance to get a Rubber Chicken with a Pulley in the Middle. Only this time, it will be useful to your pirate going forward as a way to transport fish from the sea onto your ship. In other words, it’s a fancy fishing rod.
