SNK’s Samurai Shodown has seen its share of ups and downs with rollback netcode. Slated for release in Spring, it was delayed to late Summer and again to an unannounced date due to “various setbacks and extenuating circumstances.” However, the publisher and partner Code Mystics outlined their commitment to providing a more “seamless” online experience for players.
This meant another beta for the community, and thankfully, it’s coming this week. The Final Community Beta Test starts October 12th at 5 PM PDT on Steam and will continue until an “improvement in quality” has been confirmed. Regardless, if you’re looking to jump back into the game, it may be worthwhile if it includes all the DLC characters like the previous betas.
Samurai Shodown is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Check out our review for the base game here. Unfortunately, the rollback netcode update won’t be available for Nintendo Switch players when it eventually goes live.

To increase the quality of rollback features, we will run a Final Community Beta Test on Steam from Thursday, October 12 (5 PM PDT). The test is expected to last until an improvement in quality is confirmed.
