According to a new rumor, Nintendo might be working on a new Star Fox game for its eventual Switch follow-up console. The Star Fox series stretches back to the days of the Super NES, where the first entry wowed players with cutting-edge-for-the-time polygonal graphics and blistering space-shooter gameplay. Since then, multiple Star Fox sequels have been released on various Nintendo systems, and characters like Fox McCloud and Falco Lombardi have become mainstays in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros crossover series. According to their latest claim, this new Star Fox title will supposedly launch sometime in the next 12 months. It is being developed internally at Nintendo, a first for the series since 1997’s Star Fox 64. Zippo also says that this will be a sequel to a previous Star Fox game rather than a reboot, and that online multiplayer will be a large part of its promotion.
