On August 11, fans of battle royale games will have a new playground to compete in as Iron Galaxy's Rumbleverse launches on that day. While the game had previously suffered from a delay, several large playtests held over the past few months have proven that Rumbleverse is ready to turn heads. Ahead of the game's release, developer Iron Galaxy has revealed some new features that players can expect to try in Rumbleverse on launch day.
First announced during The Game Awards 2021, Rumbleverse is described as a free-to-play battle royale like no others. While it's true that players will still be battling each other in a location that shrinks gradually in Rumbleverse, the way it plays out will be totally different as it is a melee-focused game, with elements borrowed directly from the 3D fighting genre. Up to 40 players can trade punches at the same time in this seemingly comedic brawler royale with strong pro wrestling vibes.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the Iron Galaxy team has doled out details about two new game modes that will accompany the standard Solo Mode in Rumbleverse on launch day. The first is Duos Mode, which puts each player side by side with a friend, where they will be protecting each other from the other pairs, with the biggest catch being that they will start with fewer stat slots and a reduced health bar.
As expected, a duos mode in battle royale games will require good communication and teamwork, especially since players won't have access to the Superstar Comeback system while loading into Rumbleverse as a pair.
