Writer and director James Gunn says that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the most underrated Star Wars movie. Released in 2016 and directed by Gareth Edwards, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story takes place shortly before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, and sees a ragtag group of fighters attempt to steal the plans for the newly created Death Star for the Rebel Alliance. The movie introduces characters like Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), the latter of which is set to get his very own show on Disney+ later this year.
Since its release, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has earned over $1 billion at the box office on a budget of $200 million. The film was a hit with fans and currently boasts an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes in addition to an 86% audience score. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is also revered by many fans for the inclusion of one particular scene towards the end of the movie, which features Darth Vader slaughtering an entire hallway full of Rebel Alliance soldiers. In addition to Jones and Luna, the movie stars Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whitaker, and Alan Tudyk.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was trending on Twitter earlier in the day and Gunn, who is best known for films like The Suicide Squad and the two Guardians of the Galaxy films, says that the movie is the most underrated Star Wars movie. In fact, Gunn goes one step further and says that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the most "underrated Star Wars anything." Check out Gunn's tweet below:
