While Rockstar Games' very own subscription service GTA+ may not have the wide variety of games afforded by the likes of Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, it's still quietly chugging on as evidenced by a new report that it may be coming to even more platforms. The plan provides subscribers with access to a range of the developer's most beloved games while also providing some additional benefits for those who spend plenty of time in. If reports are to be believed, it could soon do all of this on the go.
Per VGC, X (formerly Twitter) user TezFunz2 shared screenshots of the GTA+ website which states that available platforms include the Nintendo Switch; the service has previously only been accessible on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
While several Rockstar games are playable on the Switch, several of the titles included in the subscription have yet to be ported to the hybrid console., and can be purchased for the Switch but is not on Nintendo's console, sparking confusion amongst the community.
GTA+ is the premium subscription available for GTA Online. It costs $5.99 a month and will give players access to certain content early.
The addition of Nintendo Switch to GTA+'s platforms does initially appear to be an odd decision considering the most appealing parts of the subscription service are the various in-game benefits it grants to players. The free games included in the package, two of which (and ) aren't even available for Switch, are more of an added benefit than the core deal. Having a subscription service available on a console that doesn't support certainly seems like an odd move.
With that being said, it's possible that Rockstar is looking at bringing more of its games over to Nintendo Switch. Even if and aren't compatible with the Switch,there's a chance the studio could be looking into Cloud versions of both games.
