«This fall we are gonna spook-out like it's 1964!» Zombie wrote in an Instagram post about his upcoming film. «Yep, the Munsters and the Addams Family are returning to the boob tube at the same time courtesy of Netflix. It's been 58 years since the clash of the titans first happened. Perfect entertainment for your pumpkin carving party. Check out this wicked fall preview issue of TV Guide for the 64-65 season I found while cleaning. Wacky monster fans unite!»
Universal's direct-to-video label, Universal 1440 Entertainment, is releasing the PG-rated film, but it's hitting Netflix instead of Peacock despite the close ties between the two. As Zombie suggests, The Munsters is hitting Netflix alongside the streamer's Addams Family spin-off, Wednesday, which stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character. While Wednesday doesn't have a premiere date yet, it is set for a 2022 release date as well. Both shows debuted originally in 1964. Just like the giant in Twin Peaks says, «it is happening again.»
The Munsters stars Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, and Daniel Roebuck as The Count.
