Coca-Cola has teamed up with Riot Games to launch a new limited-edition Coca-Cola Ultimate Zero Sugar that is inspired by League of Legends.
The team up, part of the drink company's "Creations(Opens in a new window)" line which has seen tie-ups with artists such as Marshmello and Rosalia(Opens in a new window), will encapsulate the taste of in-game "experience points."
The can features a gold-and-black design with blue highlights that, as Polygon reports(Opens in a new window), are inspired by hextech crystals found in the League of Legends city of Piltover.
Riot Games says the Coca-Cola League of Legends drink will land on shelves in "select markets" including North America, China, South Korea, Latin America, and Africa.
As part of the collaboration, Riot Games is also giving League of Legends gamers the opportunity to earn limited edition emotes by completing in-game missions. These include seven assists in one match, earning 12,000 gold in a game, or winning a game in under 20 minutes.
It's not the first game inspired drink or game-drink collaboration by a wide shot.
Jägermeister partnered up with YouTuber Bitwit to build an alcohol-cooled gaming PC, which featured a custom-designed tempered glass case that matched the drink's signature green bottle and also sported its logo.
Meanwhile, in 2020 the brewer Bud Light launched a gaming console complete with a controller and 16GB of RAM packed into a case that looks like a Bud-Light six-pack. And gaming marathoners have had the selection of a wide range of energy drinks specially targeted to them for years (we reviewed several of them here).
