NeNe Leakes, a former housewife from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is suing the show's network, Bravo, for allegedly condoning a racist work environment. Leakes was one of the original housewives for the Atlanta spin-off of the franchise and always prides herself on being one of the contributing members that made the show possible. Because of this, the TV personality and actress always expected respect and loyalty from her other cast members, and when it was not given, there was usually a feud-filled season between Leakes and that cast member.
Leakes, who is also a businesswoman and author, appeared in seasons 1 to 7 of the reality series and then again in seasons 10 to 12, and announced her departure right before season 13. When her departure from the show was first announced, it was said that it was due to a failure to properly negotiate her contract with the network. However, shortly after this, Leakes started to refer to executive producer Andy Cohen and the Bravo network as racists and called them out for discriminatory actions. Even though Leakes hinted that she may return to the show, the star continued to make her allegations about racism and discrimination towards the network, and this led to her being allegedly blacklisted by Bravo.

Now Leakes is taking her allegations a step further and has decided to sue all the associated networks for the things she has been complaining about for a while. According to USA Today, NBC Universal, Bravo, True Entertainment and Truly Original have been listed as the defendants in Leakes' case, as well as Andy Cohen and other executive producers from these companies.
