Screen Rant spoke with Eric Dane about The Ravine, including how he deals with immersing himself in such dark subject matter, what he hopes audiences take away from the film, and more.
Screen Rant: Throughout much of the film, Mitch is grappling with the unanswered question as to why his friend would commit such an unspeakable act. With such an intense and dark role as an actor, how do you tap into that? And then what do you do when you're off set that you kind of detach from that and don't let it affect you?
Eric Dane: I've never brought my work home with me. That said, this character, in particular, sort of approached the circumstances like a detective, and he was trying to kind of piece together what had happened and make sense of all this stuff, this horrible, tragic, and unnecessary event that happened. So looking at it from 10,000 feet in the air, you get a different perspective, and you're not so caught up in the emotional roller coaster that it can be.
