In the preview material we've been shown from Resident Evil 4 Remake so far, we can see that the cast looks pretty different. However, none of the characters has changed more than Salazar, who's gone from looking like a creepy kid to the reanimated corpse of Margaret Thatcher.
With such a huge change being made to an iconic character, it was always bound to get a reaction from fans. However, there doesn't actually seem to be a consensus among the fanbase on whether the redesign is any good or not. While some feel that the new, much older look better suits his character, others feel that it's just too much, and doesn't represent him at all.

"The hair is so bad. Honestly, I think this is the only redesign I don’t like in the whole game so far," says Reddit user T-408.
They're not alone in feeling disappointed, with sammy17bst commenting, "it looks awful, like where the hell is his funny pirate hat?"
However, those in favour of the redesign point out that it actually makes the dialogue in Resident Evil 4 make far more sense. Particularly the part when Leon refers to Salazar as an "old man", despite him looking like a child. Now, the reveal that he's 20 years old will actually come as a surprise.
"In the original he literally says 'I am ONLY 20 years old', meaning that he is supposed to look much older than 20 for that sentence to make sense," says Rasial, suggesting that his new look makes more sense.
Others agree. "He genuinely looks creepier and more sickly in the remake," says Littlest-Lapin. "Almost looks like he's developed rashes on his neck, and cracks on his face."
