The demo for the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4 may be limited, but that's not stopping the modding community, as one person has managed to extend this trial version of the game for added exploration. As one of 2023's hottest and most anticipated horror games, this reimagining of the original 2005 release seems to be on track for being one of the best entries in the series, bringing nostalgia while also appealing to a more modern gaming climate.
People have already been modding the Resident Evil 4 demo, tinkering with this brief slice of the full game in order to eke as much content as they can out of it. One modder was able to remove the time and kill limit, essentially making it endless, while another swapped out the Chainsaw Man, also known as Dr. Salvador, with the lovable Shrek. The modding community is quick to act and even though there's not long to wait until the final release, there are still a number of ways to stretch out the demo.
Resident Evil 4 Demo Mod Takes Cues From RE7 and Village
As spotted by DSO Gaming, Nexus Mods user ScoovyHD has given Resident Evil 4 fans even more reason to jump back into the demo, at least on the PC version. Their «Village Expanded» mod does exactly what it sounds like in that it opens up a few more areas to explore. The report goes on to say that these out of bounds locations can be accessed after the «Church incident.» It should be noted that these are unfinished aspects, cut down for the benefit of the demo, so players will notice a few glitches, some buggy sounds, and even parts that just disappear into nothingness.
