Oppo announced the Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro series phones a few months ago for the Chinese market. Now, Oppo India has confirmed bringing these phones to our shores. There’s no set launch date yet but Oppo says both the Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro are coming soon to India. The phones will be available via Flipkart as well as Oppo’s own retail channels. The Reno 7 series will replace last year’s Reno 6 series that was launched in early 2021.

The Reno 7 Pro is said to be the world’s first phone to use the Sony IMX709 image sensor on the front. This image sensor has been developed by Oppo and Sony together.
The rear camera on the Reno 7 Pro is also said to debut the Sony IMX766 image sensor, which Oppo claims can receive 85 percent more light data than before.
The Sony IMX709 image sensor uses Oppo’s proprietary RGBW image fusion technology that claims to be most light sensitive front camera sensor. Oppo says that the sensor will help take brighter photos in low light conditions, and since its based on the 22nm process, it will consume lesser power when compared to the other image sensors.
Other than the new image sensors, the rest of the Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro are mild iterative upgrades over the Reno 6 series devices. The Reno 7 Pro gets a new boxy design similar to last year’s Oppo Reno 6. It is using a slightly modified MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max chip inside. The phone continues to feature a 90Hz refresh rate AMOLED display from the previous generation.
Alongside the Reno 7 Pro comes the Oppo Reno 7, which in 2022 makes the switch to Qualcomm power. Instead of a MediaTek chip, the Reno
