If you’re counting down the days until Arkane releases Redfall, new details have emerged you might want to take note of. In a recent IGN Fan Fest event, as reported by Exputer, there was a highlight for Redfall. Of course, we knew that this game would offer multiplayer cooperative support. However, we’re now discovering that the game won’t tether players together. Instead, there is a focus on allowing players to move freely around the world.
Some video games can be pretty strict with multiplayer. If you’re playing cooperatively, sometimes the game will refrain players from getting too far away from each other. For instance, some players might not be able to proceed further into the map without the secondary players nearby. Likewise, some games will simply snap the player into the latest area once triggered. But that might not be the case here for Redfall. It’s been reported that players can freely explore the open world without connecting together.
So if you want some help, playing together could provide some additional aid. But outside of that, it seems that the game can still feel like a solo experience if you opt to go your own way. This should make for quite a thrilling experience if you’re able to call out to help and have to fend off an area until your friends can reach you. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see how well the multiplayer game handles when it finally launches into the marketplace. We still have a slight wait before Arkane can bring out their next big title release.
