It has been a long time coming, but Blizzard is nearing the finish line with Overwatch 2, as the multiplayer side of the upcoming game is set to launch in October. Unlike its predecessor, Overwatch 2 is going the free-to-play route with full cross-platform play and a seasonal model that players can opt in to through standard battle passes. It's also launching with an online store where players can spend both free and premium currency to directly purchase cosmetic items like character skins and other items.
Those who are returning to the franchise with Overwatch 2 will also be happy to note that the shared multiplayer environment also includes any unlocked content from the original Overwatch including character skins. In fact, Blizzard also recently confirmed that players with unopened Overwatch Loot Boxes will have them automatically opened, with new unlocked content added to their account. Currency, like credits, OWL tokens, and competitive points will transfer as well, though new items won't be available for purchase with them.

While Overwatch 2 fans no doubt enjoy the fact they get access to their previously unlocked content, it seems not everything has been quite as smooth as expected. On the Overwatch subReddit, a user named TekinJ2000 discovered an odd visual bug relating to the Blackwatch Reyes Legendary skin for the character Reaper. Originally part of the Origins Edition of Overwatch, Blackwatch Reyes gives players a look at the man under the mask, as the Blackwatch agent Gabriel Reyes, before the accident that turned him into the spectral being known as Reaper.
