Realme has a thing for suitcases and it loves to launch a phone every year that looks like one! After the impressive Realme GT Master Edition last year, we have the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition following the same path. Instead of looking like a regular travel bag, this one looks like Travel Trunk, especially with its metallic rivets design and matte sides. The phone is only available in the Chinese market for now but Realme is yet to comment on its global availability.
The Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition comes in 8+128GB, 8+256GB, 12+256GB storage variants, priced at RMB 3499, RMB 3799, RMB 3999 respectively. Hence, if it launches India, we could expect it to cost almost the same as the Realme GT 2 Pro. The phone is available in three colour variants – Wilderness, Snowfield, and Black Beach.
The Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition has been designed by the Realme Design Studio in collaboration with Jae-Jung, a renowned fashion designer at The North Face, founder of Door, and previously designed for Ralph Lauren. The phone has those Travel Trunk elements but the back panel is made of vegan leather material.
Other than the design, there is some serious tech inside. The phone uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip that promises 15 percent overall power efficiency gains and 10 percent CPU power boost. The phone also gets a X7 Display chip that Realme says helps with “high frame rate and high-definition picture quality while ensuring low latency and low power consumption.” The chipset supports up to 4x frame rate interpolation. This is accompanied by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
