The Ravendawn team announced that they are working on a huge PvP update, but has decided to expand that patch even more and include a number of new PvE systems and blended systems. They’ve released a preview of one of the new features on the way, Aether Rifts.
Not only is Tavernlight focused on their original goal of “seamless integration of the new PvP Systems and endgame progression”, they're looking to strengthen the overall game. This means adding new progression opportunities, additional features, and more for players to do and interact with. They're also looking to attract new players and offer reasons for others to return.
We can expect an improved targeting system, and endgame PvP features like guild wars, forts and strongholds, and Aether Rifts, which will be 1v1 and 2v2 Arena-based challenges. Aether Rifts will also get a PvE options. Destroy Aether Stones to get an Aether Rift Scroll, Then use the scroll to open a rift. this will let you open a portal to a 1v1 Rift or you can use your scroll alongside another player to open a portal to a 2v2 rift. Do that if you're willing to face twice the difficulty for twice the reward.
Once you're inside a rift, there's a number of creatures inside to catch your attention and challenge you. defeat them and you'll get loot. When most of the monsters have been slain, a boss awakens. Beat the boss, get a Rift Chest, and open that for rewards. And that’s that. Or not. You can actually decide to take another portal deeper into the rift and challenge another team without having to use another scroll. You also risk losing everything if you don't win the next rift. If you do win and slay the second boss, you have the option to try for a third (and final) rift.
Every time you go further into the rifts, your healing capabilities will diminish and you'll take more damage the longer you're inside. If you manage to take down all three stages, you can claim more rewards, one of five possible Rift trophies, which gives your
