For more than 20 years, developer Insomniac has given PlayStation gamers the cuddly mascots they deserve with Ratchet & Clank. The franchise's blend of action-packed platforming and sci-fi shooting reached new heights with 2021’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Now, the PlayStation 5 console exclusive heads to Windows as a PC game. Are you ready to make the dimensional leap?
When Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart debuted two years ago, we gave it five stars and called it “a true next-gen experience thanks to its stunning visuals, haptic controls, and blazing-fast load times.” Having another excuse to play it is reason enough for hype, but the PC version also adds new graphical features, such as an unlocked frame rate, DLSS, ray tracing, and ultra-wide resolutions.
Sony's ported several games to PC, but Rift Apart is the company's first title to make the jump that was built from the ground up for PS5. Although the game seemed heavily reliant on the PS5’s built-in SSD, an SSD is only a recommendation and not a requirement on PC. So we’re curious to see what this means for future PS5-to-PC ports, too.
You can already buy Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PlayStation 5, but starting July 26 you can also purchase it on PC from either Epic Games Store(Opens in a new window) or Steam(Opens in a new window) for $59.99.
